Luke's First Portfolio

Luke is just barely 4, the youngest of the flock of grandsons. He has always been more interested in my camera than the others, though. He and I made a trip to the science museum a couple of days ago, and he wanted to take his own pictures, so I let him use my phone while i used my camera. I think h...

Re: Two_Scoops

playing with light again.. Love the models, they are so photogenic. The little one's "cold face" is awesome. I like the lighting overall, but might have let it drop off more gradually revealing a little more than is revealed now. But I am not as "dark" as you, Dave, and Piet tend to be, so it may j...

Re: the Ranger

like I sometimes do, took a pic of one of my models - but this time tried "overpainting" the image with a mixer brush attempting to capture the look of a painting. ranger.jpg A nice one, Piet. I have to learn how to use this mixer brush thing, it looks promising. You need to tell me what type of br...

Re: Tribute to Gudrid

Gudrid Phase 2 Moving the post proved impossible but I made a new post for the bird, and that seemed to help. I painted back in texture on the rocks so they wouldn't be so different from the grass. I blundered around with the mixer brush but that just made a mess, so clearly I have to do another tut...

Re: Tribute to Gudrid

don't know if this would have helped but whichever channel you use..red, blue, or green. Duplicate it make sure the duplicate is selected and hit command "L" to bring up a levels adjustment and you can make more contrast or less contrast....then use that selection for you mask I did those things, o...

Re: Tribute to Gudrid

looks fun - I think I will photograph a figure again and see if I can build something around him. Here I think the problem you are having is based on level of detail. If you crop above the wall, it doesn't look bad. sky/birds/fence - look appropriately distant, but still a nice clean perhaps animat...

Re: Experimentations

A redo without the fence and frame. Blur is not so heavy, but I added another textured layer and cropped some, so its slightly different from the first? Oh gee, I like this one a lot! The physical pose of the horse has so much more impact without the fence. With the fence there, it took more attent...

Tribute to Gudrid

Another play with making a mix of photos and drawings. The church, the statue and the landscape are photos. The girl and the unbird are not. To bring them closer together before starting I ran the photo items through a little piece of software I've had but not used much, Topaz Clean. Then I began as...

Re: waiting for Spring

Hi Min, I am glad that you enjoyed my spoof! The woman is a Colby model, the rest all from my camera. I agree about the snake, the lighting on it is just way off I think. I hope I can get more snake pictures this spring when they come out to hunt the frogs and other small creatures. I hope I didn't...
