Re: COMPOSITE - Road Crossings

I think they're wonderful, too! But Steve and Ceropegia, I think what "gives it away" more often than not is the lack of a shadow. When you look closely the critters all seem to be floating just above the ground. I know there are ways of adding a shadow, but I'm not gonna preten...

Re: The End of the Food Chain!

Magnificent birds if you overlook a face that only a mother could love. :D They are most impressive in flight, soaring on thermals. They provide an essential service. (Kinda ugly, tho'...) :S I love how you captured the wingspread, and the dust! I've been lucky enough to see the needed-uglies up cl...

Re: The Coy & demure approach

I haven't been the to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge https://www.fws.gov/refuge/rocky_mountain_arsenal and have to ask if it is as beautiful as it looks? It's so close to the airport and from your shot, you'd never know something so beautiful could exist like this. I've added this T...

Re: Flowering Tree with Sunburst

Made this almost a month ago on the grounds of my new abode in Lincoln, NE. I have no clue what the tree is (crabapple maybe?) but these things don't last more than a few days. I wandered underneath with the back light (There Is No Light Like Back Light :) ) and saw the sunlight filtering through. ...

Re: Baseball Portrait

Thanks everyone for the reply and comments. I popped in because I received a email asking me to return and post with new admin folks here. I'm more than happy to share my thoughts and the work I am doing here at my studio and in my area. The lack of involvement with the members here has had me back...

Grape jelly? I've heard of using apples, and coating things in peanut butter, etc. but never heard of grape jelly. Neat! S-

Re: Funny dogs of the veldt

Always liked to watch these little suckers. The prairies version of the otter. Funny ! Okay so I have to ask, where did you find your little friends? I want to befriend them too and take their portraits as well! As far as the image goes I like it. It's sharp, processed well, with a clean background...

Re: Animals watching you 2

She finally figured out that she was not hidden, and slunk down and slowly went off to the side and better cover. This same deer seems to stalk me when I'm out and she's as beautiful as ever. When I first saw her I thought she was a post of some sort with a bird on her, but when I got closer the bi...

Re: Animals watching you 1

Have a few shots scattered around of animals and birds that think they are hidden, and are watching me. Such a beautiful coyote and looks healthy as well! And usually I would say the grass in its eyes are a distraction but they seem to add more interest here. Upon closer inspection, the image seems...

Re: Wichita Mtns (pano)

I've never been able to take a pano this long before without distortion.

If I may ask, did you shoot this on a tripod, and more specifically was it camera Landscape or camera Portrait?

Please tell us more, and thank you for posting! S-
