Re: White on white

Duck, I notice that in the positions of the lights and models, I believe the model is visible to the background light. I suspect if you draw a line through the rim of the reflector and continue it through to the model, the model is within the area that is lit. I hope that makes sense. Adjust the di...

Re: White on white

I debated posting this in the critique section, but it's all good. I feel the background light is too bright. Could probably drop a good solid stop. I have a photoshoot coming up that's going to utilize this setup so I'll post those in the critique section when I get them done. Thanks guys. Duck, I...

Re: White on white

Good one Duck. I won't comment on suggestions though as this is in members showcase.... White backgrounds can be fun to light though. :)

Re: Recent Couple

G'day Ernst, really nice image which is up to your usual standard. One thing I note though and which struck me immediately I saw the image. The image seems flat to me. Not in terms of processing or such like, but, it has no depth of frame which I usually see in your images. By that, I mean this imag...

Re: Headshots for a friend

Duck, Nice images for purpose. In the first I have the feeling the hair light and main is slightly overpowered. Perhaps 1-2/3rds of a stop or so. I also think the main is just a tad high as the nose shadow is crossing Johns lip. There is a difference in contrast in the two images as well. I've dropp...

Re: Daughter's dog

Oh wow Tom. She lookalmost a twin of my lil girl Missy. The only real difference is that before we recieved Missy, her tail had been docked right to the bum. I'll get some photos up for you... Give her a pat and a hug for me. :)

Re: An environmental portrait

I can see both sides of the discussion as to this being an environment portrait. Still, the main subject is the person even if the person isn't facing toward the (your) camera. it does tell the story well and makes for a nice recording/reminder if the event. Part of me says that I'd like for the pe...

An environmental portrait

I can see this image not as a portrait according to some definitions. However, I think there is a type of portrait I call environmental portraiture which shows a subject in their environment. Not necessarily street or photo journalist style though.. This image is from local camera clubs meeting at a...
