Re: Lucky shot of my Grandson

Thanks John, Tom. This was towards the end of the night. After a full day of excitement he was starting to get cranky (not that I blame him at this point) but he just wanted to be left alone with his toys. Though this isn't the greatest of shots (technically or even artistically) it is one of my fav...

Fish tank resident

I, personally, am not a pet person. My life is too complicated to add more complication. Bad enough my wife and I inherited a cat after her father's passing. But that doesn't mean I can't appreciate pets when they belong to other people. Here is a quick shot I took of my step daughter's fish tank. (...

Lucky shot of my Grandson

One of the presents my grandson received was a toy drum with clear, see through drum skins that shows three colored balls inside the drum. Obviously designed to maximize the noise. At one point he picked it up and was playing with it. I took a few photos before he decided he didn't want his photo ta...

Christmas Barbeque

It was a gorgeously warm day (for Connecticut) and the grill was fired up for Christmas dinner. I was not only the designated photographer but also the designated cook. I had a speedlite mounted on my camera that I had been using indoors. I brought the camera out with me and grabbed these shots. The...

I love the control you have with your site background shots. I did notice a flaw in the silhouette of her fore leg. There is an unusual 'bump' on either side. An oversight with the liquify tool or a trick of the light?

Re: So You Want To Do Old Hollywood Glamour - a Tutorial of Sorts

Being a fan of DIY, I am wondering if a fresnel lens (like those used in these lights, not the cheap magnifying ones) can be placed in front of a monolight strobe to achieve the same look. Rather than going out and buying more lights at a higher cost, maybe an easier, less expensive solution would b...

Event Photography Sales Avenues

A friend/customer of my other artist at my tattoo shop is looking to break a personal record of the most number of piercings in a single hour. He is looking to be at about 1,200 needles. He is scheduled to do this at the Steampunk World's Fair in May of next year in New Jersey as he is a scheduled p...

Re: Who are you?

I have been an visual artist my entire life. As has been said, I picked up the crayons and never put them down. I have worked as a commercial artist for the past 30 years (I'm 50 as of this writing), everything from logo designs to signage to imprinted sportswear. I have designed vehicle graphics, b...
