Martha, Although Morning glory is in the bindweed family, this is not Field Bindweed the noxious weed, and bane to farmers. Field bindweed has small flowers and ALWAYS white to pinkish. I can't tell you which of the Morning Glories this is (there are 60+ in that family) but it ain't Field Bindweed....

I really like the way the black and white processing in the first image camouflages the alligator, keeps me looking at/for it. In the second, I like the DOF with the narrow focus on the eye. BTW, 15 minutes to get on your feet - I know that feeling well! :)

Both great shots and serve well to illustrate your point. My favorite is the first because of the flock of birds which you caught perfectly.
