Pretty amazing that your daisies could have that affect on the scene! I love the added sky color, too. It makes me think sunrise on a foggy morning.

Re: A sense of place?

Your "place" is terrain that is not something I see in real life unless I travel. I feel that all four shots are closely related to enhance the sense of place. The various perspectives all show a cold and rugged landscape. The fog or low clouds on the upper slopes increases the feeling of cold. I ex...

Re: From the outside looking in, from the inside looking out

I like the first shot a lot. It has great warmth and coziness. The tree in the foreground almost seems to be providing privacy and shelter. There could be a lot of different stories to go with this picture. Regarding the second shot, I like Minnie's comment " I AM the people, looking at the coo...

Re: Chess in a Parisian park

Bob, I really like this one! Initially, it made me think of a Rockwell painting. I was totally drawn into the picture. I love the expression and body language of the gentleman in red as he contemplates his next move. To me, the background doesn't in any way detract. It provides context as well as fu...

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

Minnie, thank you for your encouraging words. At the start, I didn't know if I could make anything out of it or not. My pp skills are limited (but improving). My first inclination was to do a close up of the section of the building with the gardens. Once I looked down and saw the awnings and people ...

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

Thank you for your positive feedback, Steve. I think it would only have been half the picture without the little people!

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

Thank you, Matt. This was taken less than a month ago, in September. It was also early. We were there when the tower opened for the day. I've never been a city dweller so I was amazed at all the gardens so high up. It shows that we all have a need to connect with nature!

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

Thank you for the positive feedback, Chuck. I definitely wanted pedestrians in the shot. I lucked out with these two because I like the way they are striding along with purpose, totally unaware of being watched from above. I also like the shoulder straps because they add a nice bit of detail.

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

I really like the jigsaw puzzle idea! I had a vision of sorts as to what I wanted when I shot this and it turned out better than I expected. The conditions were not very friendly. I was also a little concerned about the perspective but decided I liked it.

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

Thank you! I was lucky that everything worked out as it did. It was fairly early in the morning which I think helped the mood.
