Re: Reassuring_Hands

I see some faults with my processing and will probably go back and correct but was wondering what your overall thoughts on this image might be..... Frank, I love your images and study them. I think you tend toward the light side while I tend toward the dark, so I can learn from you to bring balance...

Re: Celebrate What's Right!

I'm excited to see it! S-

Here it, I hope. I tried to send this in the morning but it seems not to have gone. I don't recall anything other than it was shot with b&w film on a nikon. My friend printed it on a 16x20 sheet. Image is 11x16. Matt

Re: Dave's Project 52

Marvelous photo, Dave. Clever angle and creative composition. Great range of tones. So open to so many thoughts and interpretations. Here's one:

I almost touch you
Sadly turn my face away
Almost here but gone

Speaking of manual and priority modes... here is a slide from my lecture on Understanding Exposure I think fits in with this discussion.
The three columns are ISO, Aperture and Shutter respectively.

Re: My new challenge: shooting in manual only.

Thanks, Chuck. A lot of info here and I will be returning to review it from time to time. By allowing the iso to float I suspect you mean auto iso? Matt

Re: Frostbit Daffodils in Jam Jar, ETTR, Manual Settings

Chuck, Seeing your cool (cold?) photo moved me to take this one (manual) of a flower (name?) in a get-well bouquet sent to Maureen and me. I have used the brush tool to darken the area at the bottom, so you may spot some vestiges of that. Cropped and proessed first in Lightroom and then in PS, Came...

Re: how to change the world

Please add - please be specific. 1) Change myself, improve my skills - watch Vinny Le Pes, he is fun to listen to and teaches cool stuff 2) Engage myself in my community - This weekend I will go to church. Shirl has been bugging me about it, time to make it happen. 3) Don't listen to talking heads ...
