Re: Juvenile Ibis

Piet , I know lazy intimately. Here's an image I sort of gave up on when I reached the limits of my editing in Lightroom. First, the composition is poor; I need more of the trees but I had to work fast because the white puff was moving fast across the gray cloud behind, and I set the bottom horizon...

Re: Adobe updates

I hate when that happens... PS is like a finely tuned machine, and then you make the mistake and take it to the dealer.

Though I like both versions, I like the first best. It has more magic.
thanks Minnie, it has a dreamy look to it, and as Frank mentioned, the lighting might be better.

Re: Juvenile Ibis

I like this background better also......but, and you knew I'd have a but....I think you've lost some of the depth in the bird you had worked so hard on..... I will not disagree. (it was the price of being lazy). When I added/blended the background, it had to impact the bird too, or it didn't work.....

Re: Juvenile Ibis

I think I like this background much better - it works with that magnificent beak.

I can see it in the bird (the enhanced light) but your background seems to have robbed a bit of the effect maybe...
I agree, I think the color of the background might not be a plus either. perhaps a subdued green would work better. Have to think on this..

Re: Juvenile Ibis

thanks Frank, Dave, Minnie - my processing goal (besides the overdone background), was to paint the bird with light in a fashion that adds greater dimensionality to it.
