'Tugboat Captain'

An image captured on the streets of New Orleans. I may have gone overboard, but I have a tendency of doing that, so nothing new. I applied a grunge/scratch layer and thought about not covering the face, but I liked the scratched layer I decided to keep it. However, while finishing up I thought had a...

Re: 'Morning Commute' #1

We were pleased to have the opportunity of getting around New Orleans by streetcar for one day. It's such a great way to see the city at a reasonable rate. I wasn't aware there were various names to the street car lines. https://www.neworleansonline.com/tools/transportation/gettingaround/streetcars...

Re: Minnie's 52

Leading Lines this week I tried something weird involving multiple kinds of leading lines, and it didn't quite work out but it was fun anyway. Shot with slow shutter on the trolley ride in NOLA this weekend. Love all sorts of leading lines. The slow shutter looks as tho it worked very well. Not sur...

Re: New Orleans Ladies #1

I've got several series, one of the women of NOLA, of which this is #1. Hoping Mr. Chinn adds some of his soon! it is so interesting to see how differently we present the same scenes and people. Minnie, the two were a sight for sore eyes. I have many of the two together and separate, which makes it...

Re: Shield Maiden

Excellent concept Piet !!! From the beginning I had no preference to color choice. Knowing that what you came up with would be acceptable. Benedikt & Shield Maiden could be the perfect match for one another. I'm sure you have some future plans for the two?

Don't do much color but this one called for it..... Excellent Frank !!! Looks good in color, but B&W would work as well. Eyes are tack sharp, I love it when I can see the reflection of the photographer, or someone in the Iris. Always a mystery to not know who it is but still have an idea of the pos...

Re: Two kettles

Spot on Matt !!! Love the tone and the controlled environment is just right. BTW, I have a couple of kettles similar to the nearest one in the foreground. Belonged to my grandparents, I need to display them somewhere. Thanks for the reminder !!!

Re: A Gentlemen's Agreement

A handshake between two street performers sharing the same corner of Bourbon St for the night: Tin Foil Man and the Littlest Drummer. Dave Chinn and I just finished a 4 day stay in New Orleans. We suffered 100 degree heat and stifling humidity to bring back a bunch of street shots that we'll share ...

Re: Strolling_in_waves

Looks good so far Frank !!! Playing with textures can be/is subjective, so therefor what looks good to you is what matters most. I know .... that's not what you wanted to hear, but if it were mine I would tone down the saturation a bit. A nice candid capture !!!
