Re: 'The Future Ain't What it Used to Be'

I thought I would post the photos that were used for this composite. I used two different sky backgrounds and blended them together, but its so subtle I ask myself why.

Re: 'The Future Ain't What it Used to Be'

I do not know if it appeals to most, but it appeals to me. I like the moodiness of it. Matt makes a good point about their disconnection - they are in different worlds. This is either a problem or an opportunity, and Matt nailed it, it produces a very interesting tension. And I agree with Linda, th...

Re: 'The Future Ain't What it Used to Be'

A composite in the works as always. Not sure if this one appeals to most. Dave, What I see here: an aging gentleman, musing on things past, perhaps his wife who has died, or a lover lost, or a child who has moved away and rarely calls or visits. The woman, for her part, seems oblivious to the man, ...

Re: 'The Future Ain't What it Used to Be'

The toning is beautiful and the mood it evokes seems more suited to the thoughtful gentleman - who holds my attention - than the happy lady (and I'm likely just not getting the message; all me, not you!), but I am looking forward to further developments. Love your avatar photo, Dave :) Thanks Linda...

Re: Hey Hay Hey

Steve, I like the looks of both images for various reasons. The original for the lighting and hazy background and the edited version for the much clearer perspective, but I think I'm leaning towards the original to be a favorite here. This image is also an encouragement for a return trip to Yellowst...

Re: A close-up bit of a pussywillow tree

Spring is busting out all over, though they're predicting some snow for Sunday :| Your impressions and suggestions would be appreciated. Texture added to background, sharpening tool used (hopefully sparingly) on the buds. Color tone is an attention getter Linda. The textured layer and depth of fiel...

Re: Dave's Project 52

Week #7 of Project 52 and a much needed "mind meld" from me is in order for creative ideas of subject matter. ... There's a power and beauty to these images that remind of something I'd see in a gallery showing. It's your composition and use of space, and the processing of course, but it's more tha...

Re: three from today

thanks Matt, Frank, Dave, Linda -- 1, and 2 were documentation of things I had not seen before. 3 was a dream/mood interpretation of what might have been. The birds were shot the same morning, the attached is what I started with after ACR processing of raw file. It seemed boring and washed out. I t...
