Re: HDR_ how many exposures do you need?

Interesting set of responses. I am yet to use my latest camera Canon 1dxMkii for hdr, but I know the old one Canon 1ds Mkii has an exposure range of 10 1/3 stops extrapolated. I know that if inside a building and bright sun through any window, I cannot get detail from outside with detail inside. I h...

HDR_ how many exposures do you need?

Posted an article about this subject some time ago, but I thought it fun to return. Yes I know that depending on whom you listened to and your own style of working you will take as a minimum 3 to 5 shots at perhaps 1 or 2 stops latitude difference. Or perhaps finding your black area and exposing for...

Re: Which is the best book to learn photography?

" I have no favorite. The "best" is the one you can grok and learn from. As mentioned, it does not have to be a book. It can be books or videos or mentoring or formal classes, whatever works since everyone learns a little differently. " I think that paragraph says it quite succinctly in a fluid way....

Re: doodling

I love Borad's wackyness. It surpasses most of what I have seen for creative abilities and artistic style..
Will have to ask him, one of these days, how he went from original to finished item... :) :) :)

Matt; like anything else. It depends on what you seek and your level of expertise. P/Shop; Arunz/ blue lightning/ PSDbox/ rafyA In photog tuts the list is even longer, but from it all where at the beginning it was somewhat confusing. It has helped me to find my own style that I would like to pursue....

Re: Image quality comparison, please

Thanks so much, Ed! Which one did you feel looked better? Gosh Linda. They are so similar. If I have to do that, then I'll pick the first. If only that the tree to the right of the barn has more detail. I think what is more important, is that TO YOU which one describes the scene as you remember it? ...

Matt; There is some nice stuff in NIK software, but to dive in deep go onto Youtube. There is enough there to make your head spin. 8): 8):

Re: Image quality comparison, please

Linda; The sky is different. Clouds/barn. Tree on the right. I could go on, but there are differences in all elements. I don't have an expensive monitor, just a ho hum LG 19". The only calibration, if you can call it that, is that I use a black to white strip that came with the graphic card software...
