Re: lunch

Great impact for me, Piet. As Duck mentions, it's all about the angle of view with this one. Human responses to witnessing nature's world of hunter/hunted are so complex - I don't feel anything when I see great blue herons gulping rodents in a field, but was saddened to see a bald eagle bring a duck...

Re: The Road

Minnie, thanks so much for taking a look at the re-do's. They held up overnight for me, meaning this morning with fresh eyes I'm still liking them :)

Learning new software does take time and interest and I definitely have to be "in the mood. "

Re: The Road

Linda, I love the composition and where it gets interesting for me is when the road is suddenly out of site over the hill. I am, however, having difficulty getting use to the color tone and if it were mine I would convert to B&W. The wet road spots does not bother me and in fact, adds interest to t...

Re: The Rainbow Factory

It's fascinating to see these larger views, mainly for context for the flights of fancy and other incredibly original fine art you create from this site. In spite of happy-color rainbow, I feel unease, the overpowering power of the dam itself. The ice is super, not just from knowing how rare it is f...

Re: Barn and Tree

Put me down for Dead-Eye too. The building seems more ominous/lonely in that version. I really like the monochrome too, it would be my favorite. Somehow the hops apparatus is a stronger part of the composition in monochrome (the shadows and clouds give that one another assist because of all those m...

Re: The Road

I like this shot a lot. I like the bright hills contrasting with the dark fore ground. I like how the road leads the eye to the ridge line on the hills. Texture in the clouds hurts on the left side (I think anyway). The road looks and feels wet, I think it adds to the composition to remain so. Perh...

Re: The Road

It's a great composition, and would work well in color or monochrome. I love the textured look of the sky, but am not crazy about the color, it seems like there is too much uniformity of color with the clouds and land, too much of a good thing. I think there's ways to work with it via masking/blend...

Re: My day job

Fascinating and fantastic! I'm curious if you ever watched the reality tv shows with those tattoo artists? It's been several years for me so I can't recall any names (one was a woman), but I bet you do :)

Re: First sunshine of 2018!

I read something once that said a soft image makes the viewer look a little more, it makes them take a deeper look. Whatever the truth I like the first the way it is! It reminds me of the mystery of low light and really works with the colors! The eagle is worrisome, wow those eyes pierce the soul! ...

Re: Barn and Tree

Linda, Mahvelous, just mahvelous. Leading lines all over the happy place, not spooky. Playful sprites all around. Tones are delightfully delicate, light and well spread. Texture on the barn well raised. Not sure what's up on the roof through the window on the left. On my tiny screen, looks like wir...
