Re: Photography, Color Perception and Cataract Surgery

I suspect in the first I was trying the match the yellower scene I was perceiving when I shot it. It was also out of gamut. The second version was not. Yellow is reduced and green is desaturated some and darkened. It will be interesting to look back on some old image to see what I find.

Photography, Color Perception and Cataract Surgery

Over the past two weeks I've had cataract surgery on both eyes. The one yesterday was a success, we think, but the first one is problematic in terms of acuity. Both, however, have had huge changes in color and light perception, much more pronounced now that both eyes have been worked on. Acuity asid...

an image for review......
I think the success of this one is with her hands. The position and the delicate detail of them adds so much to her sense of wonderment. Good conversion, too.

Re: Waves

just another beach shot...... Good action type shot, puts us in the waves. I wish we could see more faces though. I have this same problem with beach shots. They can go out further than I safely can (for multiple reasons, the camera being one of them), and they are rightly always looking away, espe...

Re: Baby step in PS: Ta Dah!

I've been a masking nut for as long as I've been in digital, now more than 10 years. I started with PS Elements which has most of the important PS tools. Three or so years ago I got into full-dress Photoshop and lately have been using the relatively new Select and Mask tool. Duck is SO right: "...s...

Re: Free headshots for building tenants

Well Duck, I am probably the least knowledgeable here about any of this. While I agree about these not being glamour shots I feel as promotional images it doesn’t hurt to deviate just a touch….and who’s touch is too much is anyone’s call. I am glad you mention "Another aspect was in trying to conse...

Wow, that's a magnificent sky! These formations work in color and monochrome. Well captured and edited. I hope you have more and will share more.

Re: The Wilderness

The Wilderness. S- I like both versions but have a preference for the stronger contrasts of the second one. Some people find objections to the blackish skies, but if it worked for Ansel Adams it works for me. It helps bring out the wonderful detail in those cloud structures, and the lights/shadows ...

Re: Photo Rorschach -- what is it?

Should I give you credit? You're close but it isn't a mall or airport or technically an edifice, and there's no glass... No credit. Sounds like even though I may be 'close' it's still not close enough. ;) Maybe another visual clue? You're close enough, Duck, it is a section of a bridge truss on an ...
