Re: 'Morning Commute' #1

Thanks Minnie, sometimes I actually DO have issues with the dark side. Yes, I saw the runner and just never gave any thought to the scene. I have been guilty of such things while photographing sports. Being dumbfounded, watching the play rather that shooting the action. Sometimes I did capture some...

Admire how you moved to get them framed, open sky for the kiss, leading lines for the rest. A real pro. Matt
More like luck Matt, it was a sweet moment and one of my favorite shots from the trip.

Thank you Minnie. Does it diminish the photo if I reveal that I flipped it horizontally? Was I dishonest in doing so and presenting it this way? Matt
Absolutely not. You do what makes it look like it felt.

Re: Shield Maiden

Thank you Min, it was nothing special, some of it got painted, I colored things with color - sometimes I would take it and do a multiply on it (like the darker around her waist). I touched a couple of highlights with screen and drew in some dark lines. Played with Nik a little, I think I did "soft ...

Re: Two kettles

Shot this this morning at the Swap Shop, a treasure house of some people's junk and other folk's treasures. In the winter, the workers heat the shack by firing up the pot belly stove and fill these kettles with water to keep the air moist. The treasures need a controlled environment, you know. All ...

Re: New Orleans Ladies #1

Minnie, I saw this yesterday and hesitated to reply because it made me sad. On second viewing, I am sadder still. But, from a technical viewpoint, you did a sensitive and marvelous job: leading lines, critical moment, intimacy yet distance, respect, acceptance and a very subtle admiration for their...

Re: Minnie's 52

Leading Lines this week I tried something weird involving multiple kinds of leading lines, and it didn't quite work out but it was fun anyway. Shot with slow shutter on the trolley ride in NOLA this weekend. Love all sorts of leading lines. The slow shutter looks as tho it worked very well. Not sur...

Re: 'Morning Commute' #1

We were pleased to have the opportunity of getting around New Orleans by streetcar for one day. It's such a great way to see the city at a reasonable rate. I wasn't aware there were various names to the street car lines. https://www.neworleansonline.com/tools/transportation/gettingaround/streetcars...

the Shaman & the Fortuneteller - VooDoo Love

This couple works the Jackson Square area, she as a fortuneteller and he as a VooDoo Shaman. I shot this as she told him goodbye for the evening. All suggestions and comments appreciated, especially ways to make them stand out a bit more (what I already did involved a slight blur of what's behind the...
