Re: 'Duchess the Fortune Teller'

I love the image. It’s clearly a beautiful capture. Yes you had to get rid of the little halo remnant by her ch ek, I was a distraction. She looks great in the second version. I do like seeing more of the cemetery as in the First one though. Compromise?

Re: Minnie's 52

Long Exposre, this week. Well it was a challenge without a tripod but I stood very still on a plank that crossed a creek in the Mariposa mountain park in Cienfuegos province. Could not lean on the twigs that passed for handrails or I’d have been in the creek.

Re: Minnie's 52

Maybe I'm cheating a little on this one, since I took it a couple of months ago because I saw Graffiti on The Wheel and knew it would come up some day. I will try to add one later, but will be Off The Grid for about a week or 10 days. We are taking a trip to Cuba. It's a cruise so there won't be a ...

Well framed minniev..
Framing from a moving bus is impossible, it is mostly impulse and rescue work.

Re: Uber - Cienfuegos Style

Minnie, This brings me back to the late '60s when I lived in the boonies, in the city of Naga, in the Philippine Islands. The streets were dirt and lumpy and muddy and crowded. It was a bumpy ride, often with the odor of dung wafting from the dump bag behind the pony. But the buggies, they called t...

Re: Waiting at the mall

WOW. This is terrific. When I clicked on it, I was expecting a busy mall crowd with men waiting for their wives. Instead I found Whistler’s Mother only different. I believe I would brighten the background just a bit to get more tonal separation. But it definitely needs to stay in monochrome’s. This ...

Re: 'Brand New Key'

You beat me to her! I was working on a color version when I had to close up shop and finish packing for this trip. I’ll post it when I get home. This conversion and the toning is quite nice, and fits her. It helps simplify the scene, a factor I was struggling with, and lets her gain our full attenti...

Re: An homage to Minnie's kitchen sink

Great editing on this one Matt, a perfect conversion and I’m happy to be given credit for inspiring the capture! Yes, it is a good kitchen sink scene, and processed in a way that we can appreciate every detail. Very nice! I’m busy collecting Cuban kitchen sinks and have a very poor internet connecti...

Uber - Cienfuegos Style

I’m not sure this will even post. I have found only scraps of internet service in Cuba, and pM is the most impossible site to reach. Each time I try, I get a message that the site may have moved. Where did you all go? Nonetheless, I will try. My Cuba photos are not going to be of display quality, ev...

Great timing...the decisive moment
I liked the moment, but it is a little quirky.
