Here is another one for you Matt. This evenings photoshop play. I spied two or three more blossoms on the tree so hopefully I'll have time to explore them
more.
These are all just gorgeous Ernst. Wonderful compositional creations and flawless processing.

Re: Minnie's 52

I’m trying to keep up my 52 while traveling. I’m on my trip to Vancouver Island, with just my ipad. Thankfully I had an easy theme, black and white, so I could at least post something. This is from Sand Beach near Jordan River along the Pacific Coast trail. Accessing these beaches is pretty arduous,...

Re: Dave's Project 52

Cool. For a second, I thought those tall things with globes on top in front of the restaurant were Texaco pumps. Old time convenience store; fill 'er up while you fill up. Matt Matt, there were a couple of gas pumps with the globes on top, just not Texaco. This was taken at Quaker Steak and Lube ht...

Fascinating! What you did with tent effect and the color gradient is precisely aligned to bring the image to life, imparting energy and movement to the fencers. Your blending of art and photography is so seamless. I always enjoy “thinking through” your images.

Re: 'End of the Innocence'

Interesting “silky” processing. It seems to work for this image because of what it makes of that light coming from back of the chair. I do agree with those who feel the blackboard is too evident, and a crop eliminating some of it might help us focus on the real magic of the image.

Looks like you met your goal here with the look you wanted to emulate. No, I haven’t tried anything like it but since you shared your recipe, I can try!

#4 is my favorite. Very nice composition that really catches my attention because it does indeed tell a story.

That’s beautiful Matt. The one shard of orange light that echoes the color of the peaches really makes the image. Love the texture.

then I might suggest larger notes spread across the width with less opacity, as is, from normal viewing distance, just seems like a dirty flower.......I dunno..
Maybe reduce the grungy vignette while fiddling differently with the notes?

Re: three recent shots

Srgb for web posting always. I ended up using it for outsourced printing to get better results. These are quietly beautiful just as they are but have potential to be even more. These will be great once you apply your magic. I’d probably start by overlaying the first on each of the others to see what...
