Re: Blue Rocks

Good to see you back! The image works, and you've cued us to your intent with the title so we can understand it properly. The blending is handled well to mix the elements. I do the same as you. In times when new captures are scarce, I go back and find images that had something appealing enough to ma...

Re: Kite flying again

I think this is your best kite-guy yet Frank. Love the totally perpendicular position and sharpness - I can see every water drop! Great capture and well presented.

Re: 'Class Act'

It's a nice street photo and I think you were right to keep him "smooth" instead of going grungy. He is a "smooth" looking guy! I do think the photo would work better with his shadowed arm brightened some even if it requires some finagling about with noise removal and contrast ad...

Re: Tibetan Spaniel Puppy - Golden Boy

Wonderful expression and pose, nicely captured and presented. If you didn't deliberately add grain, there might be a bit of noise involved that could use some clean-up, but if grain was your intent, so be it. The image is very sweet, and should delight an owner. I know a photographer in the city who...

Re: A view from the Old Post Office Tower

On a recent trip to Washington, DC, I had the opportunity to visit the Old Post Office Tower on Pennsylvania Ave. Photography is difficult because the open area at the top is enclosed with either closely spaced steel cables or smudgy plexiglass. You can't hold your camera out to improve the perspec...

Re: Happy elephant in the clouds

What a cool shot, Matt, and yes the echoing loops of elephant-trunk in sky and sand formations make it more than just a cool shot, they make it masterful. Whether you intended to do so or not. You have an instinctively good eye so you must "listen" to it! I do prefer the composition of the...

Re: My Image - Your Look: Ten Spoon

This image is so appealing, I had to try, but I like mine no better than I liked yours. I liked the first version you posted a lot, and I also liked Frank's edit, though I'd be hard put to choose one. An image such as this has "good bones"; it is like a beautiful model, and a well-taken ph...

Re: Fall Blooming Crocus

Out little family has now moved into an actual house with lawns fore and aft. For our next trick we shall attempt to unpack. We discovered there was a small patch of very tiny flowers popping out of the front lawn. By the time we noticed them they were chewed up, but this one was still pretty good....

Re: The Watcher

On a street in Delhi, India. C&C please. _DSC2228-2.jpg Terrific capture of a moment - head peeping through that dizzying assortment of patterns and colors and shapes, surrounded by an equally dizzying array of architecture, lights, wiring, signs, etc. It is a keyhole image of India as I've lea...

Re: The Last Stand

...... before being razed and plowed into the earth. I was attracted by all this design-work against the sky. Added a touch of Luminar for PC, AI filter. Very nice executioin - sharply detailed image of a simple subject, nice use of texture to give it depth and a more artistic and finished look. I ...
