Come Sail Away

This scene off the Duke Point Ferry at sunset, as we were leaving Nanaimo at the end of our trip reminded me of Daniel Gould's Come Sail Away . His is an incredible talent and story if you haven't run into it yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJsiTpr9_7A All suggestions appreciated. It is cropped...

Oh that mean Wheel! S-
The wheel always challenges me, but I think I'm better for it. If I was picking my own subject for the 52 I would just shoot swamps and birds, and not leave my comfort zone.

that last image is amazing - I can't imagine the effort that the painter took on this! How on earth did he do it... He couldn't exactly step away to see what it looks like..
I was kind of blown away by the scale of the thing, which was why I had to research it to see what it was all about.

Well done minniev...I'd consider cropping in from the right almost to the building and possibly cloning the lower left building sign and tree.
But my cloud! (?) Kidding, I already know what you would do.

Do you recall which Topaz simplify you used? I can stand to smooth water here and there too! I like the mood of your new image very much.
One of the buzz sims I think.

Re: Piers at play

PietFrancke; Wish I could do image processing to your level. "interesting shot and process - this looks like a place to visit over and over - A foggy day comes to mind, a boat or better yet, ship at the end, sunrise or sunset, the list goes on and on." Played with it a bit more. I did put a boat in...

Is this any better? Used Piet's idea about Blend with Color using a copy of the original on top of the manipulated version

Re: Smoothing Water After The Fact

right, I hear exactly what you are saying... Sometime you can create a new layer and desaturate it. Then apply your new desaturated layer with a blend mode of luminosity and it might a lot of the original color alone, or you can bring back your original color by setting the original layer back on t...
