Re: Working With Very Old Images - Talk And Share
for some reason we always thing that we are different today. Images like what you guys have posted certainly proves that line of thinking wrong. Daphne is stunning with her glowing smile! Great grandfather is fiery. Old Tam was evidently quite a character. He claimed to be too old to fight for the ...

Re: Working With Very Old Images - Talk And Share
Simply fabulous! I too think about early photography a lot, what the practitioners went through, what the sitters sometimes went through in the days of very long exposures, neck braces to hold the head still, no smiles because no one could hold a smile that long... I would be very hesitant to try t...

Re: Baby step in PS: Ta Dah!
Am 1/4 the way through an Adobe PS Tutorial for Beginners and I thought I should try masking. Here is the before and after. Be kind. Matt photoMentoris-196.jpg Duck's given you more expert advice than I can. You are on your way. I agree that painting with a brush is the easiest way to make sense of...

Re: Photo Rorschach -- what is it?
One game at a time. But the new image gives question to the nature of the game. Are we guessing what the actual item is , as in the previous posts by Matt, or are we doing the psichlogical interpretation of an item, as in the mountain's face? Anyhoo... Here's another clue. Just a more expanded view...

Re: Dirty Stuff
Why wash them? If you don't need them, leave as is for future photos. This could be a magnificent series; let your imagination run wild. Some near a window, some on a table with an open door behind, some with table, chairs, bench, a hat on a chair, etc, etc. Show us. Matt Well, I actually dug them ...

Re: Wild flower 2 Ways
I like both. The true color is lovely, nice, extremely shallow selective focus and great bokeh. The antiqued version is very convincing. If one had not seen the original one could easily accept that the second is true vintage. (OK) Thanks Chuck. The antique version is a mystery to me too, I could n...

Re: Dave's Project 52
I often visit Riverside Drive Historic District in Covington, Ky. It is a quiet, peaceful area, where folks can relax in the shade or sunshine along the Ohio River facing Cincinnati. Every visit I take notice, a statue of an African American reading a book on a park bench. I always comment to mysel...
