Re: Ten Spoon Vineyard and Winery

... Regarding feedback, when an OP doesn't ask specific questions or state a specific goal or problem, then most people commenting can really only provide their own response (reaction) - which will be full of their personal likes and dislikes. For example, I don't care for Frank's edit because it r...

My Image - Your Look: Ten Spoon

Hey everyone, WIth a few hours before my flight, I took a drive up a beautiful scenic canyon looking for fall trees and came upon the Ten Spoon Vineyard and Winery. I have presented a few variations on what I think the image should look like but am curious what you would do with it. The challenge, i...

Re: Cascade

Thanks for helping understand your point of view Steve. I suspect my "distraction" tolerance level is pretty high, because I don't necessarily see distracting elements as others see them. I have often felt I take a "wholelistic (sic)" approach. often including elements that were...

Re: 'Kick in the .... Head'

... Not sure how much more I can tell you, other than I was visiting my son, who lives in Tijuana and owns his own tourist business there. https://www.turistalibre.com/#home This just happened to be one of the events of his tours. I have never been to a wrestling match anywhere, so this, for me, wa...

Re: Is This Minimalism?

Thanks, Steve. That color shot has been only minimally reworked in LR. The grass looks like that. One of the reasons I started thinking conversion was that the whole picture was so blah. I liked the grass okay but the sky had nuthin'. I tried pulling down a graduated filter but it was still nuthin'...

Re: Coke 3D

The technique is fairly simple, the application of it requires some skill. It uses a displacement map in Photoshop to create the effect. The left image is normal while the right image has the shift that creates the 3D effect. I'm not sure that's completely right it's just how I did this one. I foun...

Re: Is This Minimalism?

I feel like the grass has been overcooked with color and sharpness, but I have to say there's something about it I like. The third is my favorite though with its shading, but mostly I like the bright side lighting against the darkened sky. Add some stars and some snow and now we're really talking! S-

Re: Lifeguard's chair, sunrise

I think this is a striking image, and I'd almost want to add more to the top adding a portrait view minimizing the beach below, but I also see the power in cropping it down to a panoramic to define the space and control the eye. You have at least three images here and they're all good! S-

Re: Cascade

My only 'problem' with this is the lighter than expected background against the striking white flower. It's not that it's bad, but more that it distracts.

I hope that helps! S-
