Re: "Portrait of a Significant Mid-Westerner"

Hi, Steve, This is an infra-red image and, as such, is the result of exposing the sensor ONLY to light of the near-infrared spectrum. All wavelengths of visible light have been blocked and only the near-infrared wavelengths have been passed by the R72 filter screwed on the lens. So the filters you ...

It's amazing how different an image looks when flipped left-to-right. S-

Re: Water running over pebbles

Thank you so much, Steve. I did not see the red leaf or deflated balloon until someone pointed it out to me! I've been playing further and via a suggestion, have tried with blue tones. Might crop this one, might not :) You're so welcome, and I'm unsure too but from my perspective, the dark areas ar...

Re: "Portrait of a Significant Mid-Westerner"

There are ways of 'faking' an IR image but true infrared photography records a different part of the light spectrum. For example, Some (not all) green in trees reflect more IR back than others (something to do with the chlorophyll properties of leaves or some such) and therefore records as a very l...

Re: Water running over pebbles

First I like it, then I don't. I get a bit of motion sickness if I crop out the plants - lol - (or use the shot I took with just water and stones). Is it that the stones are too small and plentiful? Is it the light? Any suggestions for future? Thank you! I take these all the time and love each one ...

Re: "Portrait of a Significant Mid-Westerner"

Infra-Red image C&C welcomed Dave Graham I'm loving this, the darks the lights, the composition and the story waiting to be told. All at once it looks like it was shot mid-day and midnight. Wonderful! I can't think of much to say except that one leaf dead center of them might be a bit to bright...

Re: Follow-up to "Tension" - a skimmer water bug

Thank you all for viewing and commenting! I like the diagonal crop idea, Duck. Will go back to play with the original, or maybe I have another already that is closer to that. It's amazing how fast one idea can lead to another here. A post, a suggestion, another, and a chance to make adjustments. I ...
