Re: Minnie's 2020 52 Project

It is definitely the most trying time of my life. I've had terrible losses, but they weren't ongoing waves of danger like this, and I weathered them with shoulders to lean on. Now the shoulders are virtual. The shoulders are there, virtual or otherwise! Use your support system, use us, we're all he...

Re: Fountain sodas

With the existing shot, the trick is to find a balance of color among the various glasses without looking 'staged'. By switching the Mountain Dew with the Root Beer I would create the needed contrast on the end and reduce the lost feeling. However, that would put the two dark colas like bookends. M...

Re: Minnie's 2020 52 Project

I abandoned my 52 and am not sure I'll take it back up more than sporadically. Two weeks ago the theme was sunsets, and I posted my sunset picture in a thread of its own instead of in this thread (I had already lost my mind by then). Then last week the assignment was Animals. I looked around my dus...

The tabletop was chosen to match that of the restaurant's but yes, the sodas on the far end do tend to get lost.

I actually want to redo a soda shoot. Hopefully soon. :)
With color theory in mind, and what do you do to compensate? S-

Zoe was the flower girl and here she was hunting lady bugs.
What are little girls made of?
What are little girls made of?
Sugar and spice,
And all that's nice;
That's what little girls are made of.

It's always wonderful to see joy! S-

Re: Fountain sodas

A couple years ago I shot a restaurant's menu. They are now ready to expand to catering and have added some items to their menu. In our discussion they mentioned that incidentals (sodas, pastries and such) are stock images. I thought I'd shoot some of these incidentals for my own stock site with th...

Grunged it up and bit and toned a little, trying to learn how to use LUTs.
Now it's timeless, like something you'd see as a retrospective in a museum. Keep at it! S-
