Re: Couple & Sales

A very beautiful portrait. This is heirloom quality, a rarity in today's digital age.

Another great resource is the Audubon Society. They have chapters, and what they call Important Bird Areas (IBAs), all over the world. They even have online resources for photographers.

Re: A Bird And A Bow

My initial gut reaction was, "color? Really? Why?" Your black and white images had such intensity to them. Then I went back to have a second look and realized that not all were black and white as I had thought. I think it's just this one has the most amount of color I've seen so far in thi...

Re: Would You, Or Do you, Or Have You Returned to (Or Never Left) FILM?

"But I have to confess to often shooting in bursts of 3" We've all done that.... :D :D :D Sadly that is a habit I have not gotten into that has come to bite me in the ass on a couple occasions. Particularly the eye blinks and head swapping Charles mentioned. As often as I consciously unde...

Re: Would You, Or Do you, Or Have You Returned to (Or Never Left) FILM?

[...] So eventually most if not all of my analog images will be stored on new digital media [...] The beauty of today's digital media age is the ability to post to a worldwide audience and share history like this. So much has been recorded since the invention of photography that I can only imagine ...

Re: Would You, Or Do you, Or Have You Returned to (Or Never Left) FILM?

[...] The main difference I find is photogs in the digital age, if we can call it that, use their cameras like machine guns. [...] This could be a thread all its own. For me, one of the funniest sights is a (?) photographer with a large dSLR and a big lens, looking like a true professional photogra...

Re: Would You, Or Do you, Or Have You Returned to (Or Never Left) FILM?

[...]If you are taking pictures for posterity i,e, grandchildren and later then film and printing has a verifiable track record. Digital unless you transfer it onto.inpt the latest greatest format/storage then it is lost forever.[...] Alas, I have to say that I have rolls and rolls of film lost for...

Re: Would You, Or Do you, Or Have You Returned to (Or Never Left) FILM?

On the theory that one should never say never, I'll simply say I seriously doubt I will return to film [...] I'm too impatient, I want to know what I captured. In film days as soon as I finished a roll, unless I was on vacation, I took it in for one hour processing, fingers crossed that I actually ...

Re: Would You, Or Do you, Or Have You Returned to (Or Never Left) FILM?

The first thing I notice is that the article 'interviews' a single wedding photographer whose 'gimmick' is offering film based images as part of his wedding package. This obviously is not an impartial opinion or a unbiased overview of a coming trend. It actually comes across as a soft sell for his s...

What lab do you use and what is your opinion of them?

Thanks in advance.
