Re: Sharpening...

Several years back I gave my hand at a variety of sharpening techniques. The two choices that seemed to get the best overall quality were the Lab sharpening and the High Pass techniques. Both require a bit of a process but I found that the High Pass technique was easier for me to remember and implem...

Re: Online workshop with Don Giannatti

I have to shoot an assignment called "Chocolate Indulgence". I just spent about $60 in chocolate alone. Boy, this workshop is starting to get expensive :S Anyhow, I'll be shooting this over the next couple of days and I'll post some of the results here. Looking forward to the cleanup... yum.

Re: Ruby Beach

Some really unique textures. I had to do a double take as I first thought it was a close up of some old sun damaged skin. Kind of creeped me out at first. Thanks for that... :spank:

Re: Online image sales with Smugmug

My original thought was to place a digital camera into a lightweight, steampunk-afied camera and just take photos and hand out instructions on where to download/purchase images. Something along this line... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GD9EBLfhBY But then I came across this video and my mind wen...

No wet blanket here. I learned a long time ago that things always sound much better in one's head than in real life. Having a community to sound ideas to is a great value and I really do appreciate your input here. Specially since I know you've worked your butt off doing events. I really take what y...

Re: Online image sales with Smugmug

I enjoy photographing at these events. It would be great to make money off them but it seems that the challenges far exceed the benefits. I'll have to rethink some things. I'm going to pursue the analog photography thing as it's 'gimmicky' enough to be a 'thing' for a while. If it proves to be too m...

We had a great time. It was a bit windy and chilly by the water in the morning, but as the day went by it got warmer.
Man, do I hate cold weather. Why do I stay up here in Connecticut?

Re: Online image sales with Smugmug

Oh, before I forget. On the same note... One other idea I've had was to rent a booth area at car shows that allow car owners to drive their car into a large tent with a nice nondescript background and get their portrait taken with their car. Again, people are prequalified by filling out a form and p...
