Re: A pM Retreat? Share Your Thoughts

If the arrow lands on Mississippi... I am in favor of letting members who have budget or traveling constraints have first dibs on the location choice. Personally, I can travel just about anywhere (within reason, obviously) so any location is ultimately fine with me. Of course Maine (or within a day...

Re: lunch

I actually think that first image is fantastic. It may not be grand as an art photo but it's awesome as a photojournalistic image. The story isn't about the bird, it's about survival and what it takes out in the wild. This captures that story exceedingly well with this angle of view. Emphasis goes t...

Re: My day job

I was completely unaware of your "day job". However, you definitely have some incredible skills. --Bob Thank you Bob. I appreciate you checking out my work. Fascinating and fantastic! I'm curious if you ever watched the reality tv shows with those tattoo artists? It's been several years for me so I...

Re: My day job

I'm curious if you don't mind, were you trained as an artist or is it something you've always known, and do you use references to draw things, like the tigers, or do you see it all in your mind? I'm always amazed by this! S- Tattoo art has a long tradition that has carried through the ages. Simple ...

Thanks for the kind comments. I definitely get a kick out of seeing my work. Specially pieces that I haven't seen in a while. The viking on the arm, for example, is one I never really see around any more.

Here's another before and after. This one I sketched right on the client. Something I have always enjoyed doing.

My day job

As some of you may know, by day I live the life of a wild and crazy tattoo artist. I've never really shared much of that life here but now as I am closing shop (soon to undertake photography on as a full time gig) I thought I'd share a few images. I did this one today. Preliminary concept sketch and...

[...] While my own aging eyes see almost no difference in clarity and brightness, the Chromebook appears to show blues as more cyan than the Asus laptop.

Different uncalibrated monitors from different manufacturers (and different ages) will have variations in color temperature.

Re: Image quality comparison, please

I decided to do some more reliable exploration of the images. When I was viewing them on my laptop, at night, in lower light, while reclined, the top image looked more contrasty. Viewing the same images on my work computer (where I'm writing this from) the two images look identical, leading me to qu...
