Re: City view

I dunno either. Seems a little... cold and indifferent.

Aside from that, I am having a hard time finding a point of focus. My eye wants to go to the light spot in the intersection but there is nothing there to settle on.

Just my two bits.

Re: Fountain sodas

[..] I should have taken a photo this morning of my "studio" :D . I belong to a 52 group, and this week's assignment was photographing water drops. Unable to find my flash or my tripod, I tied a sandwich bag full of water to a gooseneck lamp with a shoestring, put a glass bowl under it, poked a hol...

Re: Fountain sodas

I always look at your product photos from the perspective of a customer with a camera rather than a critic. I like: the way you've got only a few of the cups showing the label, the odd angle which makes it more arty and "modern" than if they were set straight, and the frothiness of the contents (wh...

Fountain sodas

A couple years ago I shot a restaurant's menu. They are now ready to expand to catering and have added some items to their menu. In our discussion they mentioned that incidentals (sodas, pastries and such) are stock images. I thought I'd shoot some of these incidentals for my own stock site with the...

Re: 'Ode to Billie Joe'

Spills, trips, falls, stumbles and all those countless near misses... I know them well.
Glad to know you're okay though.

I see the resemblance. Nice work on the processing.

Re: PM Retreat 2019 - this one is going to happen!

It would be nice. I'll have to convince the wife we need a vacation. It's not like it's so far away for us either. We can drive to the ferry.
Hmm... how to make it seem like it's her idea to go...

Re: PM Retreat 2019 - this one is going to happen!

I would love to go, take the wife as well. Can I ask what the average rate for the stay (not including flight) is for that week?
I take it food is family style?

Re: Romance Gone Sour

Cute, but the white bird in the background adds too much clutter. Any way of cloning him/her out? It would make the story just about the two birds rather than having the third wheel in there. ;)

I love the background on this. Almost looks like one of those expensive hand painted canvas drops.

Re: Welcome Home

[...] All suggestions appreciated, as I just got an inspiration to make a photo book/web gallery about the resurrection of the house for family members that live away and don't get a chance to see what we're doing/have done. I agree that it seems a bit flat. some local contrast would probably give ...

Re: Ballet (Swan Lake)

All of them are wonderful. The second is my favorite. You have such a talent for making face-free portraits that really grab the viewer, a rarity that breaks lots of rules and does it so well.
